Best transcription tools: lists that show how they rank

Five lists, each with five criteria stated before the table, cells read from each vendor's own page and dated, and no ratings. We make TryScriptorium and include it in every list, scored by the same rules, with its weaknesses written out.

The lists

Our rules

  • Every fact about another product was read on its own page on the date shown, and each list links its sources.
  • "Not stated" counts as nothing and is never filled from memory or from a review site.
  • The order is computed from the table: score, then alphabetical. There are no stars and no review markup.
  • A product we could not read is named as unranked rather than left out silently.
  • We re-check on a schedule and say the date; all five lists were last checked on 2026-10-27.

Questions

Why does a transcription vendor publish ranked lists that include itself?
Because people ask AI assistants and search engines for them. We make our own placement checkable: same criteria, same rules, weaknesses written out, sources linked.
Are these reviews?
No. They are checklists of what vendors state, with dates. We do not rate or review products.
