Meeting to text
Meeting to text
To turn a meeting recording into text, save the Zoom, Meet, Teams or phone recording and upload it to TryScriptorium. You get a timestamped transcript with speaker labels you can rename, which you can edit and export. It never joins the call. One file up to 15 minutes and 25 MB is free with no account.
Upload the recording your meeting software already saved — Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and plain audio/video files all work the same way — and get back a timestamped transcript with each speaker labelled, so a meeting becomes something you can search and skim instead of re-watch.

Where the recording comes from
This page does not connect to Zoom, Meet or Teams directly — there is no live meeting integration, and that is stated here rather than implied otherwise. What it needs is the recording file each of those already produces once a call ends: Zoom and Teams save to local disk or cloud depending on the account's settings, and Google Meet recordings land in Google Drive. Download that file, then drop it in above.
What comes back
A transcript with a timestamp on every line and, when more than one person spoke, each turn labelled by speaker — worked out from the sound of each voice, not from meeting metadata, so it works the same way whether the recording is a Zoom export or a phone call with no participant list at all.
- Speaker labels you rename to real names once, up to eight speakers.
- Timestamped text to jump back to the moment a decision was made.
- Markdown export for a formatted record you can share or archive.
- Full-text search across every meeting transcript, with a free account.
Video call or phone call, same process
The picture in a Zoom or Meet recording is never read — only the audio track — so a video-call recording and an audio-only phone-call recording go through exactly the same pipeline. Phone audio is narrowband and transcribes a little less well than a video call's audio, which is a property of the phone network, not of this process.
How it works
