WebM to SRT
WebM to SRT
Create an SRT file from a WebM recording. If you captured a screen, a webinar or a web interview in the browser, upload the .webm here and export timed subtitles for it.
When people need WebM subtitles
Web video is often published as WebM or MP4 with a separate caption file. Browsers play captions from a WebVTT file attached with a <track> element, not from SRT, so for your own web page you will usually want VTT: audio to VTT and the SRT to VTT converter cover that. SRT is the right pick for editors, most social platforms and desktop players.
Steps
- Upload the .webm above.
- Read the transcript; correct names and acronyms.
- Export SRT (or VTT for a web page).
- Attach it in your player or platform.
Recording tips for browser captures
- Choose to share tab or system audio as well as your mic if both voices matter.
- Do a ten-second test: play it back and confirm both sides are audible.
- Browser recorders may skip the duration header; the subtitle times are still correct because they come from the audio.
Limits
The no-account preview covers 15 minutes and 25 MB. Screen captures with video get big fast: extract the audio with the video to audio tool if you hit the size cap.
How it works
Add a recording
Drop in a video or audio file, choose one from your device, or record from the microphone. Nothing to install.
It transcribes
Speech becomes timestamped text, with speaker labels when more than one person talks.
